This great beginner sweater has 4 edging options (rolled, 2 different ribs, false cable) and a modified set in sleeve. Sleeve and body cable is optional. Great with hand dyed yarns!

Grandma’s Raglan

 

 

 

Easy to knit in the round from the bottom up with almost no seams. Work this versatile and comfy sweater with a fun self-striping yarn or in a solid color with the optional star motif.

Diamonds are Forever Guernsey

 

 

 

‘Diamonds are Forever’ has the traditional aspects of a true fisherman Guernsey, knit in the round with an overlapping welt, false side seam, and underarm gusset with a few modern conveniences, such as neck shaping and larger gauge. Diamond patterns were frequently found in fisherman Guernsey sweaters and were believed to represent fishnets.

SKILLS USED:  Basics, knitting in the round, chart reading, picking up stitches, 3-needle bind off.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:  34 (36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52)”

St. Elmo’s Guernsey

 

 

 

‘St. Elmo’s’ has the traditional aspects of a true fisherman Guernsey, knit in the round with an overlapping welt, false side seams, and underarm gussets with a few modern conveniences, such as neck shaping and larger gauge. Cables were often found in Guernsey patterns.  The cables in ‘St. Elmo’s’ represent undulating wave patterns while the zig-zag pattern represents lightning.  The sweater is named after St. Elmo, the patron saint of sailors.

SKILLS USED:  Basics, knitting in the round, simple chart reading, picking up sts, cables, 3 needle bind off.
