Opened in 1998, the Elegant Ewe has become a premier destination shop in the fiber world. With an attention to detail and flair for design, the shop has a boutique-like feel and a cozy atmosphere. We hope you'll have a wonderful experience here at the Ewe!
We pride ourselves on having a wide selection of yarns to suit a wide range of projects and tastes as well as a large number of models showcasing the potential of our wares. In 2005, The Elegant Ewe began producing our own exclusive pattern line for the most part inspired by our customers’ needs and wishes. This pattern line can now be found for purchase on Ravelry through our shop page. We also have a small unique selection of kits featuring some of our most popular patterns available for purchase right here on our website.
We are excited to stock many highly selective yarn brands-- Quince and Co, Jamieson & Smith and Marie Wallin among them as well as New England hand-dyers Nightingale Fibers from just down the road, The Junction Fiber Mill from just up the road and On the Round from Rockland, ME. In addition, our hand-dye selection features Koigu, Malabrigo, Juniper Moon and Urth Yarns.
We believe in excellent ‘base’ yarns such as Cascade, Berroco, Ella Rae and Plymouth, and we absolutely love traditional yarns like Lopi, Navia and anything Shetland. We are equally inspired by the the not-so-traditional blends from Noro, The Fibre Company, Kelbourne and Rowan.
